Branding & content manager at Fluidmaster

My role at Fluidmaster allowed me to build a solid relationship with our vast customer base, gaining insights from the field that help make our products better.

After taking over Fluidmaster's Facebook and Instagram accounts, I organically increased followers by 437 and 671 percent. Thanks to my technical writing skills, we received numerous emails and phone calls a month complimenting us on "the best instruction booklet ever made."

I acted as creative director for video and photoshoots and even served as a hand model in the process. I wrote content for the website, making sure it's optimized for desktop and mobile viewing and meets SEO needs.

Working at Fluidmaster has taught me to be a leader who does whatever it takes to get the job done.

Social Media Manager at Trilavie

TriLaVie was such a fun project! I helped this all-female triathlon team build a unique social media community, where safety and camaraderie were essential factors.

I created public Facebook and Instagram pages to share images from past training sessions and advertise public events and a private group page that acted as a message board. The group page allowed them to safely share their workout locations, bathing suit photos they did not want online and openly ask questions of the group.

Asking the right questions to truly understand the customer's needs was vital to the project's success.

Chief Everything officer at Walters Bay

Walters Bay was an all-hands-on-deck workplace. I started as Office Manager at this small business, quickly advanced to Key Accounts Manager, and finally became Chief Everything Officer.

I did it all, including traveling to tradeshows and leading hands-on training sessions seven months out of the year, educating customers and selling products all over the country. I ran product testing and development to create unique blends for private customers, organized and planned trade shows from start to finish, and presented to groups of all sizes on the benefits of our product.

Thinking fast on my feet helped me close sales and educate customers on all things tea.

Freelance Writer

I worked as a freelance ghostwriter for both Distilled Hub and Top Trainer. I would get a topic and word count for each, then complete extensive research and optimize the SEO to complete the job. Speed and accuracy helped me gain trust and build a lasting relationship with both companies.

copyeditor at texas senate

Diplomacy was the name of the game at the Texas Capitol. Writing Senate bills is not for the weak of heart. The hours were long and grueling, but writing words that would live in Texas history was gratifying.

This extended session job required me to learn the unique style guide of each Senator and often stay to edit bills until well after midnight. My time at the Capitol taught me perseverance and attention to detail at the highest levels.

Assistant manager at Aaron brothers

Retail work provides invaluable skills often overlooked in the professional world. Aaron Brothers helped me hone my relationship management skills on every level.

I worked my way up from framer to Assistant Manager, learning conflict resolution, time management and people skills along the way. I was able to work full-time while getting my degrees and entered the workforce with a leg up on my fellow graduates who were intimidated by the conversations and confrontations that are the norm in retail work.

My ability to lead with compassion, craft witty responses to rowdy social media commenters and recognize potential problems comes from my many years in retail.

Volunteer
work

From sorting and serving food to tutoring and mentoring kids, I have been fortunate to give back to my community in numerous ways over the years.

As a current board member for HOAM New Braunfels, I work to raise funds and awareness of our mission to highlight the history and honor the heritage of my town, New Braunfels, creating video applications that have raised thousands of dollars for our next mural project.

At Walters Bay, I organized a program to donate expired tea to a local community garden and send unused tea to patients recovering from treatment at AIDS Services of Austin.

Partnerships for Children allowed me to mentor foster youth aging out of the system, helping them transition to life on their own. We taught them how to register for college classes, manage a budget, and be a positive part of their lives. We also included yoga and cooking classes, hiking and movies in the park for fun.

I also read essays for the Texas Exes Scholarship Program and tutored homeless youth with School on Wheels. Working with kids in the community is one of my favorite things.
